On Sunday afternoon, May 17, Carla van den Berg talks about the eventful life of Yolande van Lalaing (ca.1422 – 1497) in the atmospheric tower room downstairs in the donjon. Yolande was the wife of Reinoud II, the 9th Lord of Brederode. After her husband’s death, she was banished from Batestein Castle in Vianen, the residence at the time of the Brederodes, and moved into the half-rebuilt Brederode Castle in Santpoort. She became the last occupant.

The lecture will be given in the Dutch language. Admission €10,-.
