Exhibition ‘Brederode & Scale Models’

This exhibition shows the young history about Brederode and its surroundings with special scale models.
During the Second World War, while in hiding in Delft, Mr. M. van Dijk made a beautiful scale model of Brederode Castle. Especially for this exhibition, the Castle received this scale model on loan from museum Museon in The Hague.
Also there were Jewish in hiding on the Castle itself during the Second World War. The exhibition tells their story as well.
Around the scale model of the Castle, other scale models can be seen, made by Jan Morren. He has made a number scale models of vanished estates around Brederode Castle, after his three books: “Velsen, Castles and Outdoor Places”. Some of the top archaeological items can be seen as well from three surviving estates.
Together with the legend of the Spanjaardsberg and a fun viewing tour for children, this special exhibition is suitable for young and old.
The exhibition can be seen on Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends from 11:00 am – 5 pm.
