The former occupants of Brederode Castle come to life this weekend. They welcome visitors, walk around in medieval clothing for a chat, help with the catering, storytelling or do some other work, such as handicrafts or archery.
On Saturday Henry II of Brederode will tell the visitors how he became one of the founders of the revolt of the Dutch against the Spaniards and how he got his nickname ‘Big Beggar’. On Sunday, the last Lady of Castle Brederode, Jolanda of Lalaing, will be the host of our visitors. Her cousin, Jost of Lalaing, stadtholder of Holland, Sealand and admiral of Flanders, will be at the Castle this weekend as well.
Both days from 11 am – 5 pm. Entrance until approx. 4.30 pm.
Admission € 8,-, children 4 to 11 years € 6,-, children 0 to 3 years free.
