Living History with Crusade Knights
28 August 2021 - 29 August 2021

The former inhabitants of Brederode Castle come back to life every month for a weekend. There will be the nobles, but also the craftsmen of the Castle. They welcome the visitors, have a chat with them in their medieval clothes or do some other work, such as handicrafts or archery.
This weekend, the crusaders of the German Order Gemerthe will camp at the Castle and tell visitors about their history in Gemert, in the Dutch province North-Brabant, once an independant Lordship. Reinoud II and other Lords of Brederode, did not become crusade Knights, but Golden Fleece Knights. You will also learn all about this special knighthood during this weekend. Children who want to be knighted will, of course, receive a reward.
Both days 11 am – 5 pm.
With members of the re-enactmentgroup Ordo Domus Sanctae Mariae Theutonicorum Gemerth.
